Nova Pilbeam

Nova Pilbeam (Novemeber 15, 1919 - 17 July 2015) is an English actress who appeared in The Man Who Knew Too Much (1934) and Young and Innocent (1937). She is also well-known for her role as Lady Jane Grey in the film "Nine Days a Queen." A war bride, Nova lost her first husband to a plane crash during the Second World War. She later remarried, and officially retired from acting in 1950. Nova celebrated her 91st birthday in 2010, and currently lives in London.

Nova Pilbeam was the personal choice of David O. Selznick to play the lead role in Rebecca, however due to the collapse of her English studio, she lost the role to Joan Fontaine.
